Pregnant

Shannon...help! I don't know how to get my posts in order! Anyways...I'm five months pregnant as of Saturday. I wish I could say I have a belly pic and/or sonogram pic, however, I don't. You'll have to wait on that as I did not inherit the compulsive picture-taking gene my sister did. In fact, I'm quite lazy when it comes to pictures and blogging if you hadn't guessed yet...and I'm easily frustrated, especially with computer issues. I'm sure I'll manage to have some sort of picture of my belly before it becomes flat again! Stay tuned...

Our house

We finally moved into our house on April 26, 2008. It was a pain but well worth it. We still haven't totally settled in yet because just about as soon as we moved in I found out I was pregnant, and I felt very sick. I'll put more pictures up as soon as I take some because we actually do have grass now and a garage door. Yay!

Ashley's 5th Birthday party

I know it's kind of late (and out of order) to blog about Ashley's birthday party from April, but as I like to say...better late than never. The reason for the delayed posting was that we were packing to move into our house and I was trying to survive from a hectic last couple months of school, followed shortly by a non-stop bout of morning sickness, etc. More of that later. Ashley had her party this year at McDonald's. It was the easiest and not to mention most inexpensive birthday party she's ever had and she had a great time.

Monday was Ashley's first day of Kindergarten! It was an exciting, yet tearful day. Even though she's gone to daycare since she was 4 months old, there was something different about sending her off to a "real" and public school. Of course, we video-taped many segments of this great adventure, but don't expect any videos anytime soon since the cord is lost somewhere in the abyss we like to refer to as a garage. Not to mention the fact that it would probably take me a day or two of Bert style head-into-computer smashing to figure out how to do that. I'm not quite the savvy blogger my sister is. Ha! Overall, it was a very good day though...even though her teacher said she was so excited that she was screaming in the classroom. Oh well....all of that was resolved the next day. We'll see if the improvement lasts. Now that I don't teach anymore, I plan on blogging more often...at least more than once a year like the current trend has been...especially since there's been a lot going on...with a new baby on the way...so stay tuned...

p.s. Ashley's hair started out looking much better than this. We forgot to bring a real camera in the morning so we had to settle for the after school, messed-up look.

No, I don't have Munchausen Syndrome...

Just in case you don't already know this about me....I'm a tad bit of a hypochondriac. Last week, Ashley was doing flips on my bed while attempting to show off for Mandy and she landed on her neck. I heard a "snap" and she started crying way more than usual for her. She stopped after about 10 seconds but, being my usual worrying self, I called "ask-a-nurse" to see if I needed to call 911. They told me I could either call 911 or make a homemade neck brace out of a shoe box. I chose the latter, thinking that an ambulance might freak Ashley out. Good thing Ashley's used to me....I don't think anything I do could freak her out anymore...she's seen it all. To make a long story short...she got x-rays at the ER and everything was fine....she had a neck "strain." That was an expensive lesson....note to self.....Nike shoe boxes make great neck braces.

Say hello to my little rubber eel and African knife fish

I finally set up one of my tanks again. It's been a little over a year and I couldn't wait any longer. This time I got some more exotic creatures. According to my mom, I should have gotten some really "colorful" fish, but that's so boring. There's really 3 fish but one is hiding.

This eel is really hard to find...it's a Cicilian eel and they've been around before the dinosaurs even...or at least that's what "they" say. Cool, huh?

Mikey's 25th birthday party

Mikey turned 25 today and he had a surprise birthday party. It was a Hawaiian Lual theme. I have no idea if I spellt "lual" right and I don't really care. Hehe. Anyways...Mikey was really surprised and after 5 hours of water volleyball and cake we were ready to go home! Oh yea...and Ashley had fun playing with "Katy"..... Katrina's cute little dog.
